I blew today’s swimming goal out of the water (*groan*).  I did not one, not even two, but FOUR lengths of the pool freestyle with no kick board.  That’s 100 meters people – only 1/3 of what I need to be able to do for the beginner triathlon this summer!  This is seeming more and more doable as the days go on…

I think I’m going to try to arrange a swim lesson this week.  I knew my technique was bad, but really realized it today when I was feeling pain in my shoulders on each stroke.  The pain was worse when I turned to breathe.  I found this site that explains how I should be swimming to avoid the pain, but considering what a newb I am I think that having a real live person correcting my form will be much more effective than trying to remember tips from a website!

My evening consisted of a 5k walk with a friend – we were heading out of a cup of coffee but the place was closed when we got there, so we walked instead.  Tomorrow AM – I must must must get on my bike and go for a ride before work. It’s sitting in my living room taunting me and I can’t take it anymore!

Monday: 350m swim & 30 min walk/run session*

Tuesday: 6.5 km bike

Wednesday: 350 m swim / 30 min walk/run session

Thursday: Rest

Friday: 350 m swim / 6.5 km bike

Saturday: 30 min walk/run session

Sunday: 6.5 km bike

*walk/run sessions will be 2 min walk/3 min run this week
